The restrictions related to Covid-19 represented a real challenge in order to continue our activity and maintain a good customer relationship. The ALPSYS team has implemented several new features to deal with this. One of these challenges was to manage FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) without the physical presence of the Customer.
Due to the difficulty of international travel, the ALPSYS team had to find new ways of working with its clients. One of the main difficulties was to allow the customer to attend FAT to demonstrate the proper functioning of the ALPSYS evolutions on the test platform, before final commissioning on site.
The ALPSYS team took up this challenge to find a simple and effective way to allow the customer to attend the tests: We set up a one-line meeting with multiple cameras and screen sharing.

We have also dedicated a person to manage the meeting to ensure that the rendering on the client side is of high quality. This system allowed customers to be able to attend tests, be reassured before ALPSYS evolution was put on site and to move forward on projects despite this international crisis. In the same spirit, the ALPSYS and IPH (RTAP training institute) has set up e-trainings in order to be present and to be at the customers’ side because if the potline do not stop, neither does the ALPSYS activity.
