AP Techonlogy Team will present at the ICSOBA 2019 conference its recent MHD solutions designed using an in-house code. One of the innovative solutions is the modification of compensation loop at Alma smelter to optimize the stability of end-line pots which are relatively more unstable. Pot measurements show a significant improvement in end-line pots stability after the modification of the compensation loop, thus confirming the accuracy of our modelling tools. This design will enable the 450 kA amperage increase plan.
